I would say this is one of the best things of Colombia. Yes I know I’m only talking about fruit and we all generally eat fruit most days, BUT! for me this is an experience in it’s self.
You will find exotic fruit all over Colombia, street sellers to shop fronts and the colorful markets which boast the best selection.
You will find fruits so fresh and tasty that your mouth really will be watering at just the sight of them and why just eat them? they make the most AMAZING smoothies.
Colombian Fruits
When you are visiting Colombia make sure you try every fruit you come across and if you are in a market which every town will have, ask the seller if you can try a piece of fruit that catches your eye, this is a great way to find the fruit of choice.
To ask if you can try a piece of fruit from a seller try the following phrase.
Puedo probar esto, por favor (Of course you will have to point out which fruit you mean)
This translates to. “I can I try this please”.
If you wish to ask what it is called.
“Como se Llama” (Llama is pronouced yama).
This one is really important… It tastes great!
“Es muy rico”
Translates to “is very rich”, but means it tastes very good.
Once you have a selection of fruits make sure you also try them as smoothies which can be with water or milk. You can generally find a place in the markets which will make an smoothie of your choice.
