Columbia or Colombia
I thought I should cover this subject as it seems to be an on going debate with some people and in creating this website I had a few people mention that it is with a U not an O. I have even spelt Colombia thoughout the site with a U so some people don’t get confused.
So what is right and what is wrong.
Well they are actually names from the origin being Christopher Columbus however the correct name for the country is ColOmbia not Columbia. This does not mean that you can not use Columbia as the english “Translation” of Colombia seems to Columbia, no different to España and Spain.
But in my personal opinion as the spelling is not so different we should all use Colombia .
